Hello everyone!
There is this show on TLC that I'm sure most of you have heard of.
"Jon and Kate Plus Eight" A show that follows the days in the lives of Jon and Kate, parents to two sets of multiples, twin girls and a sextuplet - 3 boys 3 girls.
They've been running a marathon of the shows this weekend and I've been using the episodes as background noise as I surf the internet, paying only a little attention.
On some of today's episodes they were taking the kids one by one on what they would call a "Special Day". Where the kid got to choose where they wanted to go with just their mom and dad.
Well, today was my special day(kinda...lol)! My brother was at work and my sister and her husband are in Disneyland celebrating their 1st wedding anniversary(which happens to be today!). Which meant that I got to hang out with my parents all day.
We started by going the Eugene's for lunch. Its a greek restaurant that makes DEEEEEEEE-licious greek food, Pork Souvlaki being my favourite.
Then we went to the Saanich Plaza so they could book they trip to Jamaica, to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary in September (which I didn't mind them taking this time for themselves on my special day, I mean, if they hadn't gotten married I never would be there. Hahaha)
**[there also is this minute side note that it wasn't actually labeled as my special day. heh]**
We picked up Brian and my dad treated us all to ice cream from Baskin Robbins. mmmmm, Double scoop on a waffle cone of mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip cookie dough. So yummy!
We came home for a little bit and then went to see the new Star Trek movie. This was my parents' second time going and my first. It was so good!!
After the movie we went to the store to pick up some milk and hotdog buns and came home and I made us hot dogs for dinner (I know, I am such a chef cooking such a difficult meal. haha).
We called my sister right after dinner to wish her and her husband a happy anniversary and now, after I've finished writing this blog my mom and I (maybe dad?) will play monopoly on Pogo.com
Well, I should go now... I feel like it was a great "Special Day" and I am thankful to be able to spend that kind of time with my parents!
Goodnight all!

I thought I was rid of her.
So in my last post I talked about how I was finally rid of the crazy landlady.
I guess I shouldn't have spoken so soon...
Yesterday I had the chance to watch a friend get married. It was a beautiful ceremony and I really enjoyed it. It was accentuated by the fact that I got to hang out with my best friend Jacki and my second mom Judy.
After the ceremony we had some time to kill so we went to the casino. I managed not to lose anything and played with the casinos money for the better part of my time there :D. That was not the case for Jacki and Judy, so it was on me to buy us coffee. haha.
While in the drive thru for Tim Horton's I got a phone call.
IT WAS MY LANDLADY. How joyous an occasion to be able to hear her voice again so soon... *ugh*. She called to tell me that her new tenants came in to drop off the damage deposit and they refused to pay it until the stove was cleaner and the cabinets were cleaner. So she wanted me to come back and clean those two things "They were ok for me, not ok for new renters. My son say no reason I should clean." SERIOUSLY!?! I gave you my keys woman!! How the hell and I supposed to get into the house first of all.. and second of all, in our final walkthrough she already ok'd the place.
Just because it isn't ok with the people moving in, doesn't mean its my problem.
So she said she "took pictures" and that she is going to the rental board to see what they say. Holy jebus. she pisses me off.
My blood boils just thinking of her. I swore a LOT after getting off the phone with her and I just wanted to go over there and tell her where to shove her "dirt".
OH MY GOODNESS!!!
A landlord can't call you back after the final walkthrough to get you to clean more... right??
She is SO the alcoholic.

You are so quiet Nikki.
Ok... seriously. I'm confused.
Most of you know I have been moving. If you've read the post from April 11th, you will know the situation.
For those who haven't, I'll just bring you upto speed.
The reason I'm moving is because our landlord, on several occasions has told us that we are being too loud. (Well, that *I* am too loud)She also called me an alcoholic.
Anyway, long story short Brian and I are moving and our move out date is today. The last two weeks especially have been super stressful, but I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to today when I got to turn my keys in and say farewell to my crazy landlord once and for all.
My brother and I went to the house today, we gave her the keys and then went to do the walkthrough. Nothing wrong, we didn't shampoo the carpets so that was the only negative thing.
We got outside, and we were saying our goodbyes. She said "Oh, it will be impossible to find someone as quiet as you." EXCUSE ME!?! Wait, run that by me again.
I just moved out of this place and went through all this stress because I was apparently "too loud" and now you tell me that I was so quiet that it will be impossible to find someone as quiet!?!?!?!?!
I'M GOING TO LOSE IT!!!! What the hell!?!?! Seriously, this woman is on crack.
I don't think there is much else to say about this except:
Maybe she's the alcoholic.

Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose.
Yesterday, I was trying to think of new songs to put onto my iPod.
I remembered my sister telling me there was a Miley Cyrus song that she actually thought was good. Knowing the general sound of the song, I went searching for it. It wasn't hard to find... apparently this Miley girl is very popular. haha ;)
The song is called "The Climb". I put it on my iPod and immediately started listening to it. I'm drawn to it, and I can't help but think it came just in time...
Today was a very trying day for me. I was very emotional and some things were happening at work that just rubbed me entirely the wrong way and I got very upset.
My mom and sister were in the neighbourhood while I was on my lunch break, came and picked me up for the sole purpose of allowing me to get out of the office to cry. We drove to the parking lot across the street and through my gasping sobs I muttered some profanities and the main reasons I was upset.
When dropping me back off at work, my mom said to me "You know hunny, you just have to get through today and tomorrow you'll forget all about it."
'Tomorrow, I'll forget all about it...' Which brought me back to the time I told you about in my last post. About when my friends abandoned me for a day. When my mom sat on my bed with me, and told me "You know Nicole, you'll all forget about it by monday."
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's The Climb
THAT is why that song came at the right time.
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose.
