Creativity....

Hello hello!

I feel like if I continue to update my blog on a regular basis I won't forget about it!

So here is a quick one. I wanted to showcase my talents, yo!

I think it is pretty obvious what I blurred out. I made it for our e-mail signatures at work. I am not going to say that the idea was totally mine (um, because it wasn't).... but I am super proud of it!

Talk to you later!!

Praying and two year olds.

Hello again, let's ignore the fact that this is the second post in the same number of days and jump right in.

As you may or may not know, my sister takes care of her 2 year old goddaughter for her job. She, at least 2 times a week (ok, let's be honest... basically everyday), comes to pick me up from work. With her, is this little girl (aka LittleBit). I love spending time with her because watching her discover new things and new ways to do things is quite the experience. She is so entertaining and adorable.

The other day, just like any other day, my sister came to pick me up from work and my mom and LittleBit were in the car. We were driving back to my parents' house and I was sitting in the backseat beside LittleBit. She folded her hands together, turned to me and said "You do it too Mikki!" So I folded my hands together. "Pray Mikki!"

I was just thrown off by this. I mean, here is this 2 year old girl, asking me to pray! I know it shouldn't have been as much of a big deal as it was in my head. I just thought to myself that I can't believe it has been such a long time since I've prayed and the person to remind me is this 2 year old!
I could make excuses like 'I have much more to think about than a two year old does', 'I don't have as much time on my hands as a two year old does'.

However, we all know both of those excuses are bunk. I mean, I may think about more than she does, but that's because I'm at an age where I use more of my brain. I should still have room for reminders like saying a little prayer. Also, I had that 2 minutes while riding in the car. It's not like it took an hour to do.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you!

Bye!
Nikki

I'm back! -ish

Hello hello all!

So yeah, it has been a couple months now. Honestly, not much has changed for me.

I still love music. I still love the colour pink. I still have an amazing family. I still live in the same place, I still like to lay in bed whilst using my laptop (which I am currently doing), I still have the same hair (just more of it, I guess.) I still have the same job. I still have two arms, two legs and the same amount of fingers and toes.

So what is there to blog about??

I feel like my news would be too boring to post for you to read... there is also the reason that I'm pretty sure that 90+% of the people that read my blog are people who already know everything that is going on in my life.

However, here it is for the 1 or 2 of you that aren't updated on my life constantly.

I just recently got an iPhone. Yeah, that's the biggest news in my life. WOOT. haha
No, but seriously, I love this thing. If you had asked me before what my two favourite electronics were I would have told you "My cell phone and my iPod." No word of a lie. NOW I HAVE ONE ELECTRONIC THAT DOES BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH!!!!!!!

I love it so much and know that I will never be able to use it to its full potential, but I'm certainly going to enjoy every minute of it.

On the work-front. Things are about to get stupid. It is a long story of which I will not post on here because I have decided that when it comes to work, things are too personal to place here in detail (not for me, for others). We have lost someone and we are going to have to re-hire and I'm going to have to re-train. So that's going to be difficult. And stressful. This whole week was stressful. Yesterday I felt physically ill due to the stress. Today I masked the stress with drugs... which, in turn made me drowsy. Ooops.

Anywho... that's the 4-1-1. The what's what. The informations. The NOOZ. Ok, I'm done.

Good night!

Short but sweet?

So I don't talk about faith much.
I'm not sure how comfortable I am talking about it.

My brother and I were sitting in the livingroom looking through movies on this website. He settled on a movie that I wasn't interested in and so I chose one at random to watch on my laptop.

It was called Fireproof. A movie that I didn't know it when i started, but it ended up being one of those movies that talk about faith, show how when God comes into someones life how things can change for the better...etc. Very cheesy acting and very cheesy dialogue.

While I may not be the most religious person around these here parts, I am certainly not the least religious. I think God plays a large role in my life and for that I am greatful.

The best quote of the entire movie is at the end, right before the credits.

"But God demonstrated His own love towards us in this: That while we were still sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Pretty powerful stuff, eh?

I don't know what the point of writing this down was... just felt like sharing that passage I guess.

Self Doubt is a bitch.

So as my last post stated, I'm training a "newbie" at my work.

It has been longer than a week now, obviously, and things are both good and bad.

The worst part about this journey is all the self doubt I have. I think it is finally coming to a head because I just started crying out of nowhere as my sister was driving me home.

I know for a fact that I am good at my job. Well, the one I am training someone to takeover. I can do that job on auto pilot. However, as most of you know, I suck at dealing with change.
I have been told I am an "old soul". I'm like an old woman. Stubborn. Set in her ways.
The nice part about what I'm teaching is that the ways I am set in weren't mine to begin with. The company, having been around for a long time, has ways of doing things that just plum work. The bad part for me, is that I have no experience in teaching them.

All I have to go on is how I learned those ways. However, we all learn differently and at different paces. I've been getting some guidance from Mme.Awesome. That's right, eventhough she abandoned us (ok, not abandoned) she still offers great advice for me to follow. Which is a HUGE asset.

However, here is where the self doubt comes in. I've never trained in this field before. I don't know if I'm doing it right.
What if *I'm* failing Newbie? What if they would do better under different guidance!?!

Man oh man. Who knows!?!

It doesn't help that I've been sick on top of all this training. I'm feeling run down constantly with a healthy dose of self doubt and stress thrown in the for the kicker.

I've never wanted it to be friday so bad in my life....

Time to crawl into a hole and cover myself up with blankets.
