Now I know that when you say that you're going to do something 'One Day', you truly mean it.
One Day, I'm going to start losing weight. One Day, I'm going to get control of my financial situation. One Day, I'm going to reconnect with my family. One Day, I'm going to own my own gift wrapping company. One Day, I'm going to clean out the garage.
We all have something that we want to do 'One Day'. Most of the things we want are VERY realistic. Will they take hard work? Heck yes. Will they take some sacrifice? You betcha. Will some of it make you uncomfortable? No doubt.
What I'm here to tell you is that it is ALL possible. I'm not trying to being cliche here, I'm being REALISTIC. Excuses are excuses. If you want to keep telling yourself these excuses, then you're only hurting yourself.
I used to simultaneously love and hate those people who had "before and after" pictures. They found a drive inside of them to get their act together. While it made me think it was possible for me to do it, I was so quick to make excuses for myself. The biggest excuse I gave myself was "I can't afford to eat healthy." Well, let me tell you something: My boyfriend and I have spent the last 5 months working on lessening our expenses. Tightening our budget. We stopped going out for dinner. We stopped going out for drinks with friends. We stopped going to the movies. We stopped buying clothes. We stopped, We stopped, We stopped.
Was it hard work? Heck Yes. Were there sacrifices? You betcha. Were there some uncomfortable times? No doubt.
Was it worth it? More than I could ever describe. We've since learned how to budget better and be able to do all the things that we had ended up sacrificing. We don't do it as often, but it has made each dinner out, each drinks with friends and each article of clothing that much more special. By cutting back, we really gained more appreciation for everything.
So whether it is losing weight, getting better at budgeting, reconnecting with your family, starting your dream business or cleaning out the garage: YOU. CAN. DO IT. It may not be pretty, it may not be comfortable but it is TOTALLY POSSIBLE.
I was on 'stay-cation' (a vacation where you stay in town) and ended up being busier than ever! Thanks for your understanding and thanks to those who participated in spite of my lack of reminders! You are so awesome!!
If I'm being honest, there are quite a few things that tug at my heart strings. When I saw this tweet from Tikki, it tugged particularly hard.
@nikki2987 today I let go & felt free. I watched my kids play, I stood in the sunshine, I drank tea &laughed with a friend. #PositiveThurs
— Tikki Butcher❄ (@tikkileigh) February 22, 2013
Isn't it amazing how it feels to feel thankful for the things in our lives that would normally be taken for granted? Like standing in the sunshine, or laughing with a friend.
There is also something to be sad about reading #PositiveThurs tweets from people you're getting to know better. Like this one from Melanie:
#PositiveThurs today I'm feeling great because of a healthy lifestyle, family time, and PASSION.

LIKE SERIOUSLY WOMAN!?! I get to surround myself with people like this. No wonder my heart is constantly full of love. Passion. *happy sigh*
I feel like I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't feature Becky's #PositiveThurs tweet about a baby panda learning to walk. Yeah. LEARNING TO WALK! *SO CUTE*
I'm one of those people that don't like to plan out too much. I'm not sure if it is because I'm lazy or if I just dislike when things don't go my way. Normally when I plan something, I plan out the bare bones and then just wing it from there. I like doing this. I don't like being regimented to a single possible outcome.
What an awesome week. Seriously, you are all so AMAZING!!
If you're just seeing this new format for the first time, don't panic! All the tweets are gathered in the slide show at the bottom of this post. I've just started featuring a couple tweets that stand out for me in the week.
As I've said before, I'm a visual person. A picture speaks more than a thousand words for me. When I was choosing all the tweets this week, I came to put them together... and they were all pictures! Oops! Definitely didn't do that on purpose.
CUTEST EVER!!
Another thing that I love about #PositiveThurs that is hard to show, is how it has really turned into a community.I grabbed this tweet as an example:
Russ' tweet was retweeted by Tartan Group and then Tartan Group was retweeted! It just goes to show you how far your tweet can reach, and how that means you've affected so many people!
I always find that winter is a hard time for people. People get depressed and start to shut down a bit. Crumbling under pressure/stress. This tweet REALLY makes sense
Just remember that you're on the right path. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you can't go wrong! Happy travels this week all! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next week!
There are a bunch of things that make #PositiveThurs special for me. Other than the obvious: "These people are taking a moment out of their day to be positive." These are a few of my favorite things:
