REMEMBER WHEN?

SO I thought I might start a "Remember When?" series.

My family will laugh because they know that that is a favourite line of mine...
However, since I don't find my current life interesting enough to blog about.. I thought I'd talk about some stories from my past.
Most of them that come to mind right away are from my Wal-Mart days... so this may to into a "Remembering Wal-Mart" series. but feel free to leave whenever you please.

So as most of you know, I am a BIG fan of hugs. People say I'm good at it... but its really just because I really want to be giving you that hug and being hugged in return.
One day while working at Wal-mart I was saying goodbye to one of my co-workers that was done her shift and it was usual for us to give eachother a hug. Another one of my co-workers made the joke of "Where's MY hug!?!" and so I gave him a hug.
Then, all of the sudden I hear from behind me "Are hugs free today?" I turned around and saw this woman who looked to be in her late 70s, early 80s. She was dead serious. So I said "Well... if you want one!" So there I was, hugging this woman I had never met before. When we pulled away from eachother, she was crying. She said something about a death... but through her sobs I couldn't tell if it was an anniversay of someone's death or if they had died recently. She then looked at my with a brave face and said "Thank you. That is just what I needed"

Little did she know, I needed it too. I'll never forget that woman. I don't know what made me hug her so freely...not one bit of me was reluctant.

ANYWAY.... there is your first "Remember Whrn?"

Hope you enjoyed!

Oopsies.....

So the other day I was at my parents' house (really... what day am I not), sitting on the couch in the family room next to my sister. I was surfing the net on my mom's laptop when i showed Renee that she hadn't posted in her blog since the first of January... like the jerk I am I I was like "Seriously Renee... the first? Its the middle of the month already!" and she looked at me all puzzled and said "You haven't posted since the first either!" I had to come to my blog to check... I could have sworn I had made a post lately... but no... oopsies!

So, sorry Renee... but now I beat you (I just checked again to make sure she hadn't posted yet...lol)!!

So not much has happened lately (which is probably why the lack of posts.) I pretty much do the 'ol go to work, go over to my parents' house, go home, and do it all over again the next day. Although this week, the plan is to start going to the gym three times a week. I'm really hoping I keep to it.
I always feel so much better when I do... its just getting there that's the trial. However, I should...*sigh*. haha.

Right now, I'm just sitting around watching football. I'm hoping the superbowl is Cardinals/Steelers.... only cause I don't like the Ravens and the Cardinals have played really well this season. I would have rathered see the Colts in the superbowl... or the Giants... or the Seahawks (if they were playing well).

Well I'm going to continue wathcing the game! See y'all around!

(Hey Renee! Seriously, the first? Its the middle of the month already ;) )

Happy New Year!

First post of the year!
Let's kick things off with a BANG!

Uhhhh.... BANG!!

So anyway.... New Years was fun! I played bartender for my family... making pornstars all night. Everyone except my mom played this game called Munchkin. I had so much fun!
We all rang in the New Year with champagne and laughs. We're an awesome family.

I take us for granted most of the time. Its when I stop to reflect on time spent with them I couldn't wish for a better group of people to hang out with! No drama. I can be myself, they can be them... and we can talk about whatever...and we're just made of awesome.

When I first started at my new job, I felt like I shouldn't hang out with my family so much because they ask what you did the night before and its like "Oh yeah, hung out with my family again." However, I realized... that if they had my family, theyd know what there is to be jealous about.

We're kind of a family of nerds. I mean... let's take right now for example. My brother, brother-in-law and dad are talking about WOW... and my sister and I are on laptops. We're awesome. *sigh*

Here's to family and here's to a happy happy New Year!!!
