Ok Facebook notes... I'll show you.

So I went to post this on my facebook notes and it was being a jerk, so I thought... "Why not post it on my blog?"

I'm really impressed with how this turned out!!

To get your band's album cover:

1 - Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to "Random quotations"
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use photoshop or similar (piknik is a free online photo editor) to put it all together.

5 - Post it with this text in the "caption" and TAG the friends you want to join in.

Sleep? Who needs sleep!?!

So I find myself unable to sleep. Which is funny.. because around 8pm I could barely keep my eyes open.
I blame it on pushing through the sleep in order to "stay up until a decent time".
I am SO paying for this tomorrow...today.

Let's talk about the weekend!
Oh man, I had SOOOOO much fun!

My sister, brother and brother-in-law went upto Mt.Washington wednesday night, which meant for thursday and friday I was an only child.
Thursday night after work I made my way home, thinking that it was my parents' "Date Night"... but not this thursday! Nope, this thursday I was an only child. So instead of a date night for my parents, my mom suggested we go to my favourite restaurant! It was DELICIOUS!

Then Friday night my parents and I went to this Mexican restaurant called Orale. Let's just say I didn't like the vibe in there. It was just, uhhhh... weird.
I wasn't super impressed with the food, although their salsa and guacamole were good (tasted like how my mom makes it) and their tortillas were delicious.

Then saturday was definitely my favourite day of the weekend.
Friday night my sister had called down to invite us to meet them in Duncan for some Bowling. Which I've been wanting to do for a LONG time. So Saturday we headed upisland. We got to the bowling lane only to be disappointed by the fact that we only had 30 mins before all the 10 pin lanes were booked.
So we squeezed in one game. We asked how long it would be until we could bowl again and the lady said one hour.
We went outside (which smelled DISGUSTING) and we decided it was worth staying the extra hour. We looked around for stuff to do and right across the street was a pool hall!
So we killed an hour playing pool... that was SO much fun!
We went back to the bowling alley and there was a different guy there... and he told us that it would be one hour before there would be a lane open for us to play. =(

Instead of getting really really mad, like I wanted to... we just got into our cars and left for the trip back home. My dad bought us pizza and my sister and I bought booze and we spent the night playing Puerto Rico (a board game), trying to perfect the BottleCap Shot, and making Pornstars.

Funny thing about trying to perfect a shot... is that you try them back to back.... and we weren't really thinking of the effects. So by the time we pulled out Puerto Rico... we were drunk. haha
We sang along to music and played the game.
These bottles were full when we started:

My poor sober mother had the task of driving my brother and I home.

Sunday was pretty cool. Renee came and picked Brian and I up and we ate some lunch together at Mayfair Mall.... then we went shopping. Stationary stores mostly... because who doesn't LOVE looking at different Padfolios and purple paper to put inside!?! Not to mention different pens, pencils, sketchpads, file folders... You may think I'm being sarcastic... but really, my brother sister and I love Stationary.
My mom made DELICIOUS mexican casserole for dinner. One of my favourite meals.

So all in all... a great weekend. OH!
Renee and I also coloured Sunday.... this is my picture:

Well, Have a goodnight all!!

Lunch Time Blog

Its a beautiful day in the neighbourhood, a beautiful day for a neighbour... would you be mine? Would you be mine?

Haha!

Well hello hello all.
Welcome back to the lunchtime blog. The part of the show where Nikki is bored during her lunchtime!

Ok, maybe I'm on some crazy drugs or something... no, really I'm not. I swear.
I think I'm just high on life. HAHA, ok. SERIOUSLY NOW.

I'm on my lunch break from work. I've eaten a spectacular lunch that I REALLY enjoyed (eventhough I made it myself) that was made possible by my father who drove me to Thrifty's last night to get tortillas! Thanks Dad!

I've checked my e-mail. This was a bust. A couple of YOutube comments. One good, one bad.
I've checked my facebook. Poked Juli. Read Status'
I read my cousin's wife's blog, and had already seen those videos on FAILblog... but hadn't read her post from thursday and so I caught up on that.

I'm hoping for a good weekend... I'm thinking sleep might be an awesome option after going to the gym tonight.
I've been super tired all week, and I think it might be residual from the cold I had at the start of the week. Tomorrow is also gym time. Then who knows what!
I've been invited to go with one of my friends to some fundraiser... so we'll see!

Then Sunday, it'll be a time where the family gets together, has some lunch.. and misses the fact that there is no NFL to watch together. Heh.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this lunchtime blog... if not, that's too bad!
At least it took up the time I needed to spend on lunch!

Thanks!
<3 Nikki

Remember When?

So for those who are just joining us (umm... hello? anyone new? no? Oh well, I'll pretend) I have decided to start this Remember When section of my blog. Where I tell you stories from my past. Ones that have recently popped into my mind maybe for no paricular reason... but they are there.

This one is short and sweet.
I remember when my grandparents from my dad's side used to call us from Quebec. I was always so worried of not speaking well in french to them, so I would just let them ask yes or no questions... I'm sure they would have loved if I elaborated... but for the most part I would just say "Oui. *pause* Oui"...etc.

My grandmaman just passed away last year and her facebook account is still up. Most of you who use facebook will know that when its someone's birthday, in the sidebar on your homepage it'll show their name and their birthday. Well my grandmaman's birthday was yesterday... and I was thinking back on the times I had gotten to see her and the times I talked to her.

I kinda wish I had said more than "Oui". I mean... that's why I went to french school, right?

Well... gotta go feed the dogs...

Bonne Fete Grandmaman. Je t'aimes beaucoup.

Home "sweet" home

Just a quick thought:

So I don't know why... but every so often I've been going to craigslist and looking at the ads for housing... I certainly don't want to move. The act of moving itself is way too much work and I'd rather put that off as long as possible...

However, tonight I was looking and there is a place that is EVEN CLOSER to my work and Brian's work. EVEN CLOSER. Its so close to my dad's work that it might as well be there. haha.

Anyway, it got me thinking... would I ever want to move just to be closer...and have my own washer/dryer?
The things I think about....

FEBRUARY!!!

Ahhh, my favourite month, here at last!!

TAX TIME IS ALMOST HERE!! Haha, kidding.... MY BIRTHDAY IS A WEEK AWAY!!
Now, it used to be that birthdays were magical. They were THE BEST day, hands down, of the year.
Now that I'm not 10 years old, i realize how much it really is just another day.

Ok, look... I lied. People think its childish to count down the days until your birthday and live the day like a princess.... but Childish or not, I'm right in there with the 10 year olds. HECK YES ITS MY BIRTHDAY IN 8 SLEEPS!!

Believe me, I'm going to go out and celebrate. I will very much enjoy the birthday dinner my mom is planning on making for me. Also, the dairy queen ice cream cake is something I'm REALLY looking forward to. Holy smokes, I shouldn't be this excited... but I am. haha.

The thing is... why not be excited about it? I survived this year (and boy was it a great year!) and I want to start the next one off with a bang... its like our own personal new year... do you celebrate new years?
Although I won't go as far as counting down the seconds until I turn 22.

However, the point of this post is not only to inform you that its my birthday in a week and I love purses, shoes, MAC Makeup and money...haha

The point is that if we can celebrate New Year with a big fanfare... why can't we do the same for our birthdays? I would rather celebrate another year of my life than another year of the world's. But then that may just be because I don't get presents at New Year. ;)
